Jakande’s son picks ACN ticket
Lagos, State News Saturday, January 22nd, 2011Son of former Lagos State governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Deji Jakande has picked the Lagos State House of Assembly ticket to represent Somolu Constituency 1.
Speaking with Sunday Sun at the weekend, Jakande said he joined the race so that he can contribute his quota to the society.
He lauded the Governor Raji Fashola’s administration for the past four years, saying only a second term in office would give the people 100 per cent dividend of democracy.
He called on all Lagosians of voting age to come out and register so that their votes can count in the coming elections. Jakande who registered at the Adebule Primary School , Somolu said people who have no business in government should quit and allow those with the interest at heart to serve. “A foreigner cannot come to Nigeria and change it for us.
Nobody can build your father’s house to your taste for you except you. Nigeria must develop whether the devil likes it or not. The destiny of this great nation lies in our own hands. It is either we make it or mar it. We can only make it better. Lagos is already made. With the quality of leaders we have in the ACN, Nigeria would soon be made,” he said
The ACN candidate whose mother is from Ikenne in Ogun State, said with the quality of Nuhu Ribadu, he is optimistic that the ACN will emerge victorious at the presidential poll.
