NYSC camp bomb blast false – Bauchi

Bauchi State Government has debunked the  rumour that the NYSC Orientation Camp in Wailo was bombed and a number of corps members killed.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Michael Adeyemi, the state government said the rumour was   “baseless, unfounded”.

The statement added, “The rumour is the handiwork of a few people who are enemies of peace and who want to cause unnecessary panic among the people, particularly the corps members.

“The rumour is a mere figment of the imagination of the mongers. As a government we are committed to the protection of lives and property of every law-abiding citizen.

“Adequate security measures have been put in place and we are working with all security agencies in the state and the efforts is paying off  as Bauchi State has remained peaceful, in spite of the security challenges the country is facing.”

The state cordinator of NYSC, Mr. Nuhu Kwaghe, also denied the rumour, saying “the orientation camp is safe and peaceful”.
