Filed by New Nigerian Politics

New Nigerian Politics has just been reliably informed that Nigeria’s Premier League Division 1 outfit, Sharks FC of Port-Harcourt, has been involved in a road accident enroute to Kaduna to honour their league match against Kaduna United FC in a midweek encounter.

According to the source on the ground who spoke to New Nigerian Politics, the accident occurred in Edo State along Abuja Expressway when a motorcyclist rode into the path of the luxury bus conveying the oil city team. There was no indication of any casualties on both sides and no indication if the encounter will be postponed.

The Port-Harcourt side which is one of the pioneers of Nigerian football was founded in 1972 and has produced great players such as Nigeria’s retired international winger, Finidi George and former national team coach, Samson Siasia. The three-time Nigerian FA Cup finalist is currently occupying the 7th position with 52 points after 34 matches.
