Boko Haram Denies Cease-Fire Pact with Govt, Endorses Yobe Massacre

The leader of Islamist militants group, Boko Haram, has denied
reaching a cease fire deal with the federal government saying “we
will not enter into any truce with the Nigerian government.”

Also, the group claimed responsibility for the last weekend attack
on Yobe School where 29 students were massacred.

The Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Turaki, had said that a
cease-fire agreement was reached on July 8 after talks with the
group’s deputy leader, Mohammed Marwan.

However, the sect leader, Abubakar Shekau, in a video released
yesterday said “Let me assure you that we will not enter into any
truce with these infidels.”

“We believe in the massacre inflicted on the secondary school in
Mamudo and Damaturu and other schools; we earlier warned that
we were going to burn all schools, they are schools purposely built
to fight Islam.” He boasted

Shekau said though Boko Haram does not kill students but argued
that the group will kill in the presence of their students the
teachers that teach western education.
