“Abdelhamid Abaaoud has just been formally identified as having been killed during the raid” in a northern Paris suburb on Wednesday, Francois Molins said in a statement.

French police were looking for Abaaoud, a Belgian national, along with another alleged attacker, Salah Abdeslam, who is still on the run.

The coordinated attacks claimed by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) killed 129 people in Paris last Friday.
