Petition started for U.S. Congresswoman and former Somali refugee, IIhan Omar, to resign

The Canadian Politician (Toronto) – Minnesota Democratic Congress woman IIhan Omar, a former Somali refugee in Kenya, has irked pro-Israeli groups leading to calls for her resignation. To this effect, Laurie Cardoza-Moore, President of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations (PJTN), has launched a campaign asking for her to resign from Congress. This call is coming on the heels of Representative Omar’s recent remarks that were critical of AIPAC and those who have been funding the Israeli State. She indicated in a tweet that “It’s all about the Benjamins,” suggesting that money is the chief motivator for those that support the State of Israel.

A statement from Cardoza-Moore read, “Ilhan Omar recently made some antisemitic statements and has communicated her support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.” She continued in a video release to press the Congresswoman to resign her post, “PJTN aims to “educate Christians about their Biblical responsibility to stand with their Jewish people against the rise of anti-Semitism.”

Cardoza-Moore accused the former Minnesota House lawmaker that she is fighting against the Jewish people from the halls of Congress and for this act, she does not have the right to represent Americans. She said, “Ilhan Omar is waging an unholy war against the Jewish people from Congress…She should not be representing Americans.”

Cardoza-Moore continued “She is about to learn that the Jewish people don’t stand alone, millions of people of faith and conscience stand with the Jewish people. We will neither sleep nor slumber as she uses the heart of American democracy and freedom to defame God’s chosen people and God’s chosen land.”

Cardoza-Moore is aiming for one million signatures on a petition tagged, “The Million Signature March.” She claims that Omar was not forthcoming with her constituency and misrepresented her position on Israel to get their vote. There has been no immediate reaction from the newly sworn-in Congresswoman.
