French police arrest a Saudi man suspected of participating in the gruesome killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi

(NNP) French police detained a 33-year-old Saudi man accused of participating in the October 2, 2018 gruesome killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Khashoggi, who had been critical of the Crown Prince and was a Washington Post columnist, was murdered and dismembered in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul when he went to keep an appointment regarding his upcoming wedding to a Turkish woman. The suspect identified by French police as Khaled Aedh Al-Otaibi, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. local time as he was about to board a flight to Riyadh, the Saudi capital. Al-Otaibi has been banned from the U.S. for his role in the murder and sanctioned by the UK.
