2011: Why I dumped IBB for Jonathan –Dabo

Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Move Nigeria Project (MNP), Dr. Godwin Akpenlamen Dabo Adzuana on Wednesday explained that he sacrificed his 49-year relationship with former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida for President Goodluck Jonathan in the overall interest of the country.
He however, called on Babangida to support Jonathan and vice president Namadi Sambo in order to win the presidential elections.

The controversial politician gave the explanation at the launch of five publications dedicated to the campaign fortunes of President Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo presidential ticket by his group. He explained that the books covering different academic fields including Medicine, Core subjects; Engineering; Humanities and Law were aimed at addressing the problems of mass failure by Nigerian youths in the West African Examinations Council, WAEC and JAMB examinations.

The former National Deputy Auditor of the PDP who is also a staunch supporter of goodluck Jonathan’s presidential ambition disclosed that his group was to distribute 55,500 copies of the books to the 109 senatorial districts of the country free of charge adding that so far, about 23,000 copies have been distributed to five geo-political zones.

In addition to the book, the group also produced and distributed 25,000 exercise books; calendars; key holders; Posters; Car Stickers; T-Shirts; Caps and VCDs to the six-geo-political zones free-of-charge.
Speaking at the well-organized and attended event, an elated Dabo said “in the last nine months, this movement (Move Nigeria Project) has been consistent in its total support for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s presidential ticket. In the process, I have had to sacrifice the most cherished relationship I have built with any human being. I had to sacrifice my 49-year old solid relationship with my brother and mentor, former president Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.

“I am however happy that, the dramatic and totally unjustified developments that led to his “defeat” by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who emerged as the consensus candidate of the “North.” I’m grateful to the Almighty God that my pleas that General Babangida should not go into the 2011 presidential elections because his pathological enemies would do all they could to demystify him has been vindicated.”
“I take this opportunity to plead with my brother and mentor, former President Ibrahim Babangida to without any further unjustified delay openly support the PDP and its presidential candidate, President Jonathan/ Sambo for the 2011 elections.”
