ECAPS Cambridge Offers ‘Cambridge Experience’ to young Nigerians

In a bid to position young people for the challenges of professional education and leadership, the Cambridge based European Centre of Advanced and Professional Studies (ECAPS), with input from the undergraduate admission offices of the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford and London is offering a 3 week holiday session to Nigerians, tagged the ‘Cambridge Experience’. The programme is targeted at high school teens and will last from 31 July – 20 August, 2011.

According to Dr. Anthony Kila, ECAPS Director of Studies (International), the programme will expose participants to the best of British education. “While the leisure plan of the session supplies to the holiday needs for mental and physical renewal of participants, the full package completes the educational experience by exposing them to traditional English academia (Cambridge, Oxford, London) and custom,” he explained.

Students will have the opportunity of attending sessions that will enhance their public speaking, diction and etiquette. In the same vein, Dr. Kila revealed that participants would earn themselves a better understanding of gaining admission in the prestigious universities. “The Pupils will be taken through University of Cambridge, University of London and University of Oxford introducing them to the stimulating opportunities of studying in the intimate but multi-disciplinary settings provided by these world leaders in university education. They, upon satisfactory conduct during the programme, would have earned the opportunity of competent references for admission into these institutions,” he disclosed.

The programmes and the whole environment has been conceived to be truly international, to allow participants take part in a wide range of exciting activities and to make friendships that will last a lifetime.

Also speaking at the briefing, Mr Yinka Folami, Country Manager, Cambridge Experience and CEO, Travel & Logistics declared that every Nigerian child whose parents and guardian could afford the cost deserves the experience. “The purpose of the programme is to align the positive aspirations of our children with their self potentials. We are reaching out to schools operating on British Educational Curriculum in Nigeria and students planning for further international education. Participants will be certified for attendance at the end of the programme. We recommend that every child be part of this experience,” he says.

The programme will attract a total cost of four thousand two hundred pounds per participant which includes air fare return ticket to London, accommodation, meals, health and travel insurance, ticket fees into all tourist attractions and sites among many others activities.wp_posts
