Expect Surprise in Abuja – Rwanda Coach (Even Rwanda can now insult us – kai)
Headlines, Soccer, Sports Saturday, March 3rd, 2012RWANDA coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is already playing mind games ahead of June 17 return leg of 2013 Africa Nations Cup against Nigeria in Abuja, saying that though the Super Eagles are the favourites, yet he has a record of never losing on Nigerian soil.
Nigeria and Rwanda played a scoreless draw in Kigali on Wednesday in a first round, first leg match.
However, Micho reminded Nigerians he has a lucky touch on the West African soil.
”The last time I came to Nigeria with Orlando Pirates of South Africa in 2006, I played a 1-1 draw against Enyimba and the last time Nigeria played in Abuja, they played a 2-2 draw against Guinea, so I know I can get result in the return leg in Abuja.”
Micho also criticised Nigerian midfielder, Dickson Etuhu who blamed the bumpy nature of the Kigali pitch for the goalless draw.
”I didn’t expect that from a player of his calibre, he ought to be talking of Nigeria being lucky that our dying minute goal was disallowed. It’s a pity FIFA is yet to accept goal-line technology, else we should have been talking of Rwanda one, Nigeria zero.”
However, he absolved match officials of negligence, saying the technical crew of Rwanda only got to know that the ball crossed Nigeria’s goalline when they reviewed the game on tape the following day.
