I Have No Link With Obasanjo – Ribadu

Presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, yesterday cried out that he had no link with former President Olusegun Obasanjo again.

He made the response while responding to an allegation that he was OBJ’s stooge on facebook. Ribadu, through his campaign group said it was a malicious way of hacking him down politically.

Ribadu was Obasanjo’s chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and was believed to have carried out the ex-president’s directives on alleged intimidation of political opponents.

But Ribadu, in the statement said he has no dealings with Obasanjo again.

“The attention of the Nuhu Ribadu Campaign Organisation has been drawn to malicious messages, in form of sms and wall postings, written in Hausa and particularly being spread in Northern Nigeria alleging that the Presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has clandestine deals with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and President Goodluck Jonathan.

“We would like to state with candor that Nuhu Ribadu has no agreement whatsoever with any of the above mentioned persons. Rather his decision to contest the presidential election is borne out of his determination to bring positive change to Nigeria and Nigerians; to build a nation which every citizen will be proud of,” the group said.wp_posts
