Jonathan swears in batch ‘A’ ministers today
Latest Politics, Ministries Friday, July 1st, 2011SET to recover about one month already lost since his swearing-in, President Goodluck Jonathan will today swear-in the first batch of ministers confirmed by the Senate of the Federal Republic on Wednesday and Thursday.
The ceremony which holds at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, is schedule for 11a.m.; and it is expected to attract the affected ministers-designate and two guests each.
The remaining ministers are to be screened Tuesday by the Senate.
The 14 confirmed Ministers and accredited family members are to be seated at 10 a.m. before the swearing-in and assignment of portfolios.
Those that have been confirmed are former ministers of National Planning, Dr. Shamsudeen Usman; Mines and Steel, Mr. Mohammed Musa Sada; Information and Communication, Labaran Maku; Transport, Yusuf Sulieman; former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke and new appointees Hajia Zainab Maina and Mrs Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi.
Others are former ministers of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke; Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe; Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu; Health, Professor Onyebuchu Chukwu; Education, Prof. Ruqqayattu Rufai; Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bala Mohammed and former FCT minister of state, Capt. Caleb Olubolade (rtd).
