Christian Obodo: Police arrest 3 more suspects
Headlines, Soccer, Sports Monday, June 25th, 2012THREE more kidnap suspects, among them a woman, have been arrested by the Delta State police command in connection with the abduction of ex-Super Eagles player, Christian Obodo, penultimate Sunday.
The latest arrest brings to six the number of suspects cooling their heels in police net over Obodo kidnap saga.
Security sources told Nigerian Tribune, on Sunday, that the latest suspects were apprehended at Ovwian-Aladja near Warri last Thursday night.
It was gathered that the police breakthrough with the latest arrest was manifested by the confessions of the three suspects earlier arrested at the heat of the incident.
The suspects were identified as Efe Okoh, Okoh Omonkoye and Caroline Victor (female).
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Charles Muka, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), who confirmed the arrests, said a locally made single barrel gun and three cartridges were recovered from them.
He disclosed that one Mary Nenyiaba, a female, was also rescued by the police, last Friday, shortly after she was abducted at her poultry farm on Benin-Asaba Expressway without payment of ransom.
