Edo, Headlines, Niger Delta, State News Sunday, June 26th, 2011A pressure group in Edo State, the Niger Delta Women in Politics has dispelled rumours making the round in the State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that Edo State is in turmoil over ministerial nominee, saying on the contrary we commend the PDP over the ministerial nominee from Edo State; Arc Mike Onolememen, a young professional and new breed politician.
In a statement signed by Mrs A. Agbebaku and Mrs Agatha Ganagana, President and Secretary respectively which was made available to Vanguard said: “To douse all wrong impressions being circulated that PDP in Edo State was in turmoil over the Ministerial nomination by President Goodluck Jonathan, we hereby state that all is well in the party, in Edo State and in the entire Niger-Delta. Rather, many of us are happy across party lines because of the pedigree of the Ministerial nominee.
It is also important to call on all selected candidates to stop their propaganda and incitement against the President and PDP on the issue of ministerial nominee from Edo State. Some of them, who aspiring for the office of the governor of Edo State in the 2012 should concentrate their efforts on the gubernatorial campaign, which is just a few months away.
The aspirants, one of them, who is also from Edo North where the incumbent Governor of Edo State hails from should not create the impression that all is not well in the state over the nomination of Onolememen for President Jonathan’s cabinet.
