Edo to spend N4bn on schools’ renovation
Edo, Education, State News Monday, March 7th, 2011
Edo State Government has committed the sum of N4bn to the reconstruction of 60 primary and junior secondary schools across the state.
This was announced by Governor Adams Oshiomhole at the Action Congress of Nigeria campaign at Agenebode in Etsako East and Fugar in Etsako Central Local Government Areas on Saturday.
A statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, quoted Oshiomhole as having said the sum was part of the state’s ongoing school reconstruction programme.
He said his administration had also invested in social infrastructure such as roads, hospitals, potable water and electricity to make life more meaningful for the people of the state.
He, therefore, urged the people to vote for Action Congress of Nigeria House of Assembly and National Assembly candidates in the April elections.
The governor explained that members of the state house of assembly had helped his administration in the appropriation of funds for the development of the state in the past two years.
He presented Mr. Peter Aliu as the candidate for Etsako East State Constituency; Abubakar Momoh for the House of Representatives and Mr. Obende Domingo for the Senate.
