Keshi gets N20m salary arrears (The worthless NFF pays salaries when they want to)

Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi, will today get his four-month salary arrears following the resolve of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to offset the salaries of the Eagles technical crew ahead of the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The federation, which made the disclosure through the chairman Media Sub-committee, Chief Emeka Inyama, blamed the delay on the late release of fund from the federal government, adding that the federation has equally concluded arrangements to pay the Eagles technical crew upfront to avoid distractions during the World Cup.

Giving an update about the salaries of the Eagles technical crew, the federation said: “As I speak to you, the coaches’ four months outstanding salaries have been processed for payment. In fact, the mandate has been signed and I’m sure they will get the payment alert by Wednesday or Thursday.”

“The outstanding salaries of coaches of all the national teams including those no longer in our services like John Obuh is currently being processed and I want to assure you that it would be paid latest by next week.

“The federal government approved some money but you know that at the end of the year, or latest January, the money will return to the federation account to return later. This is exactly what has delayed the payment of the coaches like Obuh and the rest of them.

“We have also concluded arrangements to pay the salaries of the Super Eagles technical crew until the end of June. We did same during the Nations Cup where the coaches got three months salaries upfront. We’re are also going to do it during the World Cup and this is just to avoid distractions. We want to give him all the support and enablement to deliver on his mandate,” he assured.
