Picture of the Week: The real Wike revealed
Governors, Headlines, Rivers, State News Tuesday, January 26th, 2021Gov. Wike of Rivers is known to always shout at the traditional chiefs in his state. At home, he is a fearless lion roaring at his chiefs. Some of them are well-respected and highly educated Grade A chiefs. But that status does not prevent them from being at the receiving end of his anger and utter disrespect. Wike has never bowed before any chief in Rivers. But the picture below shows why the north, the Hausa/Fulani, are in control of Nigeria and have pocketed southern leaders. The so-called southern leaders do not see themselves as equal to the northerners. The question is – will a northern governor bow before His Royal Highness, the Amayanabo of Kalabari, the Ikemba of Nnewi or any other Grade A traditional chief in the south? It’s a game of the mind, it’s a mindset. This is the real Governor Wike, not the one who barks and roars at his own chiefs. This is a tale of two Wikes – the roaring one and the sheepish one.
