Plateau Deputy Gov, Pauline Tallen, defects to ACN to Challenge Gov
Plateau, State News Thursday, January 20th, 2011Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has written to the state governor, Jonah Jang, to sack the deputy governor, Mrs. Palline Tallen for defecting to Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) where she is contesting for the office of the governor.
As part of the crisis rocking the conduct of National Assembly primary election in the Delta State, stakeholders of Delta Central Senatorial District have petitioned the national secretariat of the PDP, requesting for a fresh congress as they alleged that there was no primary in the first place.
According to a letter from the Acting National Chairman of the party, Dr. Mohammed Harilu Bello, to Jang and copied to the Senate President, David Mark, and other principal officers of the National Assembly, PDP said: “Since these defected members were elected on the platform of our great party, we are by this letter requesting you to use your good offices to remove them from office, especially the deputy governor, who is seeking for election on the platform of another party.
“Same treatment should be applied to those in the National and State Assembly, who hold party positions.”
PDP listed members and officials who have left the party for other parties to include the deputy governor, Tallen, Senator John Shagaya, Hon. James Ayuba, Hon. Ibrahim Hassan, Joseph Bukar, Emmanuel Danboyi, Hon. Abbas Wokdung, Hon. Dangyambar, Hon. Sodat Garga, Hon. Dina Lar, Hon.
