U-20 World Cup: Falconets trounce Italy 4-0
Headlines, Soccer, Sports Monday, August 27th, 2012Nigeria’s Falconets, on Sunday morning, trounced their Italian counterparts 4-0.
With the defeat of Italy, the Falconets have qualified for the quarter-final of the ongoing Under-20 World Cup in Japan.
The goals were scored by Ordega, who had a hat trick, and an injury time goal from substitute Igbinovia.
The Falconets topped Group B with seven points.
One of the favourites for the cup, Brazil, also playing in Group B, did not make it to the round of 16 as they lost 0-2 to Korea Republic in the last group match. Korea Republic clinched the other Group B ticket, with six points.
Brazil and the fourth team in Group B, Italy, were third and fourth in the group with two points and one point.wp_posts
