Buhari: Nigeria’s Fate’ll Be Decided in April
General Politics, Muhammadu Buhari (1983-85, 2015 - 2023), Presidency Sunday, January 30th, 2011Former Head of State, General Muhamadu Buhari (rtd.), has said the forthcoming general election will be a watershed in the annals of Nigeria’s history, saying Nigerians are determined more than ever to take their destiny in their own hands by electing their choice of leaders.
Burahi who is the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), made this assertion Sunday through his spokesman, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, during an interactive session with journalists in Lagos.
According to him, anyone who attempts to truncate the will of the masses of Nigeria this time will not go unpunished. “The fate of this country will be decided by the people in April…Anybody who stands in the way of the people will be crushed by the people,” he stated.
However, Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has appealed to the CPC flagbearer to call his supporters to order before they ruin him.
Lamido who spoke at an interactive session with journalists in Kaduna Sunday said the text messages that were sent round soon after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary elections, urging Northerners to vote for Buhari and not Jonathan on religious ground, were actually demystifying the former Head of state.
Lamido said further that such messages were not in the interest of Buhari whom he noted is a national figure, having served as a military Head of State, pointing out that those who thought they are campaigning for him were undermining him and reducing him to a local champion.wp_posts
