Cross River governor, Imoke, resumes work after three months vacation

Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke has officially resumed work after a three-month vacation.
Imoke, who returned to the country last Friday, has in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution written to the House of Assembly, notifying the state lawmakers of his return. Meanwhile, the governor has congratulated former president Olusegun Obasanjo on his 76th birthday.
Imoke, in a statement issued in Calabar yesterday described Obasanjo as the father of modern Nigeria. He said the former president deserved all the commendation and goodwill messages he was getting, given his role in ensuring the unity and growth of the country and his contribution to Nigeria’s democratic process.
