David-West, Horsfall, Others Back Amaechi
Rivers, State News Friday, March 25th, 2011The ongoing campaign for the re-election of Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi has received a major boost as some heavyweight politicians from the Kalabari Kingdom have publicly declared support for the governor.
They include, Prof. Tam David-West, Chief A.K Horsfall, Alabo Graham Douglas, Chief Ombo Isokariari, Chief Ebenezer Isokariari and Justice Karibi Whyte among others.
The endorsements poured in during Ameachi’s recent campaign rallies in Asari-Toru and Akuku-Toru Local Government Areas of the State.
Meanwhile, Governor Amaechi has dared his opponents in the April 16 governorship election to a public debate on the state’s economy following recent insinuations of financial impropriety in his administration by some opponents.
David-West, former Petroleum Minister and renowned social critic, stated that his open support for Amaechi dwells on his performance and achievements in the state in less than four years.
“I do not belong to any party and they say I am controversial, I agree, but I have come to campaign for Amaechi, I support him because of what he has done in Rivers State, I support him because he is focused.”
