I’m ready to pay N18,000 minimum wage -Zamfara gov
Headlines, State News, Zamfara Thursday, July 28th, 2011ZAMFARA State governor, Alhaji Abdul-Aziz Yari, said he is ready to pay the N18000 minimum wage to his workers.
Speaking with newsmen in Gusau, the governor affirmed that the minimum wage was a law which he had to comply with.
He was, however, silent on when he would start its payment.
Yari said he would pay the new wage with a view to motivating the workers.
The governor urged the workers to be patient with his government largely because he met an empty treasury when he assumed the mantle of leadership two months ago.
“What am doing now is trying to study the trend and find solutions to the numerous challenges facing government. Am optimistic that with time, we would be able to address most of these issues for the progress of our people,” Governor Yari said.
