INEC eyes corps members

A National Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Lai Olurode, on Wednesday said the Independent National Electoral Commission was compiling the dossier of corps members who participated as ad hoc staff in the just concluded general elections.
Olurode, who applauded the performance of the corps members during the polls, said it was only wise to collate and keep the dossiers of such people so that they could be called upon during subsequent elections.
Olurode disclosed this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
“We are particularly proud of these young Nigerians who against all odds gave their best to ensure that the entire tasks were well accomplished.
“The NYSC has one of the largest pool of young Nigerians and it was not out of place to engage them, contributing their quota to National development. One of the essence of the scheme is integration and unity,” he said.
