Mass literacy: Jigawa gov tasks dept

GOVERNOR Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has challenged the state department of literacy to come up with new policies and programmes that will make over 17,000 graduates of mass literacy classes across the state to further their education to post-literacy levels.

The governor made the  call while delivering his address at the International Literacy Day celebrated in Dutse, promising his administration’s total support to achieve the target.

Alhaji Lamido explained that since inception of his administration in 2007, extra attention had been given to the educational sector and committed billions of naira for uplifting the sector through provision of quality and adequate materials for all schools in the state.

He added that his government was ready to commit all the state’s resources to education.
According to him, “our aim is to produce the highest number of best professionals in this country.”wp_posts
