Osun Guber: Igbo youths react to Adeleke’s victory, hints on rally in Enugu, Abia

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for winning the just concluded gubernatorial election in Osun State.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Sunday declared the former lawmaker winner of the just concluded election.

Adeleke emerged the winner of the governorship election after securing 403,371 votes against his major opponent, Gboyega Oyetola who also garnered 375,027 votes.

Reacting, COSEYL in a statement by its President General, Goodluck Ibem commended the National Chairman of INEC Professor Mahmood Yakubu for ensuring a credible election in the state.

The coalition called on youths and every other Nigerians who are yet to register for their Permanent Voter Cards, PVC, to do so ahead of the 2023 general elections.

COSEYL also hinted that ahead of the 2023 elections, there would be a mega rally in the region, particularly in Enugu and Abia States to protest against bad leadership in Igbo land.

The statement read partly, “the time to be scared if our votes will count or not is over. We call on Igbo youths to be ready to vote out non-performing governors in the South East zone.

“We will communicate to all on a date for a rally in Enugu and Abia States to press home our campaign against bad leadership and governance in our region.

“The time for the youths to take over our country is now.”
