Police elevate 2 AIGs, 8,600 officers (Why promote incompetent officers unable to stop Boko Haram?)
Headlines, Nigerian Police Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011ABUJA – The Police Service Commission, Wednesday, announced the promotion of two senior officers, CP John O. Morenike and CP (Dr.) Stephen D. Hart, to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police. Both Promotions are with effect from August 3, 2011.
Also, the Commission considered and approved the Inspector-General’s recommendations that Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lateef Abiodun Junaid, DC in- charge of Operations at Lagos State Police Command, be promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police. His promotion equally is with effect from August 3, 2011.
A statement by Ferdinand Ekpe, Chief Information Officer of the commission, noted that the commission similarly considered and ratified the Inspector-General’s recommendations that 8,600 inspectors be promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, with effect from June 21, 2011.
