Police rescue 2 sisters from kidnappers
Headlines, Nigerian Police Sunday, September 18th, 2011WARRI— TWO sisters were allegedly kidnapped in Warri, Delta State, weekend. They were, however, rescued by a police patrol team.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man has been arrested with a human skull in the Town area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State by the Police. State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ben Uguegbulam, who confirmed the arrest, said investigation was on to unravel details on the issue.
He added that the skull was not fresh. He did not give further details on the incident, though the arrest heightened tension in the state capital.
In Asaba, the state Police Command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, said: “On September 7, at about 7.30pm, a distress call was received that one Tom Kemiye, female of Orije Street, Jakpa Road, Effurun, was kidnapped along with her younger sister along Jakpa Road.
“A joint patrol team was mobilised in search of the kidnappers and victims.
“At about 9pm of same day, the vehicle was sighted along Warri/Sapele Road and was followed up by Joint Patrol Team 004.
As a result, the kidnappers stopped, jumped into the bush, and abandoned their car and the two victims. The Inifinti SUV and victims were taken to Ekpan Police Division.”
