Qur’an ‘ll be my guide – new Zamfara Gov

The new Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar  has sworn  that the Holy Qur’an  would be his guide in administering the state, even as the former governor, Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi  left over N40billion debts  and asked for forgiveness of any wrong done  during his tenure in the state.   

Abubakar, who spoke during the inauguration ceremony in Gusau, disclosed that he would do his best to ensure that shari’ah   implementation was revived in the state.
“I swear by the Holy Qur’an to serve you ,  I know the implications of the oath  of Allah which I took to serve you.”
According to him, he promised to restore  the shari’ah system which was abandoned by the former administration in the state.
Speaking further , the new Zamfara  governor attributed his  victory to the cooperation  he enjoyed  from  the opposition parties, particularly the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and  the  Action Congress  of Nigeria (ACN), which  he described as  agents of change in the state.
He maintained that the former governor, Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi  left the state with debts amounting to over N40 billion both from banks and contractors.

He promised to continue giving the necessary assistance and encouragement to the education and agricultural sectors to ensure that the sectors received boost during his administration in the state.  “I will like to assure you that in our effort to boost education and bail out our children from educational disadvantage, I will provide free education to all children in the state.”      
 
Abubakar also assured that in his  effort  to revive agriculture in the state and coupled with promises he under took during his campaign tour, “by next week,  I will flag-off fertilizer sales in the state ,which I promised   to sell  at the rate of N1000 per bag to all farmers in the state.”

Meanwhile, the former governor,  Mamuda  Shinkafi has apologised and sought for forgiveness for any wrong   he might have done to anybody during his administration in the state.The former governor, who  spoke to newsmen few hours to the inauguration ceremony at his personal residence in Gusau, announced the  sack of  his..
