Unflattering book by President Trump’s niece breaks sales records
American Politics, Headlines, NNP News Thursday, July 16th, 2020(NNP) The tell-all book written by the niece of President Trump, Mary Trump, titled “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man,” has broken a previous record for the publisher, Simon and Schuster, set by the former White House National Security Advisor, John Bolton, by selling 950,000 copies on the first day of release. The book, quite unflattering of the president was blocked by the courts after Trump’s brother sued to have it suppressed.
But a court order allowed the publisher to proceed with the publication and the book was released two weeks ahead of schedule. In the book, Mary Trump, who holds a doctorate in Psychology, alleged, among other things, that her uncle paid someone to take the SAT exam on his behalf to enable him to get into the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a bachelors degree in economics. Trump has since denied the allegation. Mary Trump’s book is the latest of a series of books written by previous members of the administration to expose what they term as the wrongdoing of the president.
