Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has reacted to President Bola Tinubu’s warning to the tribunal over disqualifying his win at the February 25 presidential election.
Naija News recalls that Tinubu had issued a warning about the potential consequences of nullifying the election that produced him as the president.
He cautioned that such a decision, based on his failure to secure 25% of the lawful votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), could result in absurdity, chaos, anarchy, and the distortion of the legislature’s original intent.
The president stated this while presenting his final written address to the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPEC) on the petitions filed by candidates from the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar challenging the validity of his victory.
Reacting to Tinubu’s warning via Twitter, Charly Boy wondered why the president was issuing threats after encouraging the opposition to go to court.
He wrote, “So after threatening the judiciary on camera, u wan still come dey threaten Nigerians with chaos & anarchy?
“Well all I know is nobody get monopoly of violence.
“Removing me as president over failure to score 25% in Abuja may trigger anarchy in Nigeria,
“Tinubu warns the tribunal.
“Haba, na u say make e “go court” Na u still come say, if Tribunal judges remove u for scoring less than 25% there will be anarchy.
“So u know say u score less?”
