Yar’Adua’s son-in-law, Gov. Yuguda donates N10m to Benue church
Bauchi, Headlines, State News Saturday, April 14th, 2012Governor Isah Yuguda of Bauchi State yesterday donated the sum of N10 million to the families of the victims of the collapsed church in Benue State in which 22 worshippers were killed.
St. Robert’s Catholic Church,Adamgbe in Vandeikya Local Government Area of the states collapsed last Saturday.
Governor Yuguda made the donation during a condolence visit to Governor Gabriel Suswam in Government House, Makurdi,Benue State.
The Bauchi governor said the government and people of his state were deeply touched by the death of the 22 people who went to church to worship their God.He prayed that God might give the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.
In his response, Governor Suswam described Governor Yuguda’s kind gesture as a display of elder statesmanship which is borne out of concern for the victims of the tragedy.
“ The government and the people of Benue State are sincerely happy with your donation and pray God to reward you hundred folds,”Suswam said.
Suswam and Yuguda later visited the Catholic Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, Bishop A.Usuh to condole with him.
