15 die in Lokoja- Abuja auto crash
Abuja (FCT), Cross River, Headlines, Kogi, State News Friday, March 30th, 2012NO fewer than 15 persons lost their lives while 54 sustained injury in an accident that occurred at ‘Crusher’ on the Okene- Lokoja- Abuja highway on Thursday morning.
An eyewitness said the accident involved a luxury bus belonging to the Young Shall Grow Transport Company and a stationary truck.
According to the source, the luxury bus, which was heading towards Abuja on top speed, ran into a stationary truck, killing 15 persons and injuring others.
The sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who confirmed the incident, said 69 persons were involved in the accident but two lost their lives.
He said the corpses had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, while the injured were receiving treatment in the same hospital.
