27 parties form alliance to beat ACN, PDP

No fewer than 27 political parties in Lagos State have formed an alliance to confront the Action Congress of Nigeria and Peoples Democratic Party in the 2011 elections.

The Convener, Coalition of Lagos State Opposition Political Parties, Dr. Adegbola Dominic, who announced the plan at a news conference in Lagos on Wednesday, said the group would support the All Progressives Grand Alliance to clinch many elective positions in the state.

Dominic did not name the parties ‘for strategic reasons.’ The convener said the objective of COLASOPP was to dislodge the ruling ACN from the governance of the state in the April elections.

Dominic stated that the coalition chose APGA because the party had the best practice of internal democracy among all the platforms in the state.wp_posts
