52-yr-old, others arrested for stealing boy in Delta
Delta, Headlines, State News Thursday, July 5th, 2012A 52-year-old father of 14 children was among five persons arrested by the Delta State police command on Wednesday for allegedly stealing a seven-year-old boy named Trust in God.
The boy was stolen from his mother’s residence at No 2 Idumuisioji Obi Quarters at Umunede last Monday.
Acting on information, detectives were detailed to fish out the culprits who were trailed to 69 Olo Street in Umunede where one Collins Osekihe (24) and the 52-year-old man, Chuks Elue, were arrested.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the two suspects led detectives to Agbor where the boy was rescued before he could be sold out at N250,000 by the wife of Chuks Elue identified as Patience Chukwuemeka, a mother of seven.
Also arrested were Chuks Okwudili, (18) and Uche Anyansi (16) for being accomplices.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Charles Muka, in a statement, however, said the suspects had confessed that they bargained to
sell the boy for N250,000 to the said Patience Chukwuemeka.
He said efforts were on to arrest one Chinedu, whose surname was unknown and at large, in connection with the incident.
