Michael Ojemudia selected by Denver Broncos in the NFL draft

(NNP) Michael Ojemudia, a football (American) player for the University of Iowa has been selected by the Denver Broncos as the 77th pick in the 2020 National Football League draft. Ojemudia whose father was born in Nigeria and immigrated to the United States and worked for Ford Motors, was the third Hawkeye chosen by the Broncos in the last three years. Ojemudia joins many players of Nigerian heritage including fellow draft choice Noah Igbinoghene, drafted by the Maimi Dolphins from high-flying Auburn University, in the National Football League, a league that once (1987-92) had the well celebrated “Nigerian Nightmare,” Christian Okoye, who played for the rival Kansas City Chiefs, the current Vince Lombardi title holders. The league will resume its regular season in September.
