I will deal with Boko Haram, Jonathan vows

KADUNA — President Jonathan Goodluck , Friday,  said his government would use all legitimate means at its disposal to deal with the menace of increasing terrorism occasioned by bombings and killings carried by the Boko Haram militant  Islamic sect.

“Enough is enough”, the President warned in his speech read on his behalf by the Vice President, Arc. Namadi Sambo at the graduation ceremony for Senior Course 33 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna state.

“No country would fold its arms and watch some few people destroy innocent lives and properties with relish.
“This is not the time to put sentiment in our thinking. We must see the imminent reality of the  evil before us and address it with the action it deserves.

“In view of this, the Federal Government will use all available resources; all legitimate means to put a stop to this spate of insecurity in the land.

“I called on the Armed Forces, civil security agencies and the public  to work hand in hand  in the area of information gathering.

“This problems cannot be handled by any single agency.  We must cooperate to stamp out this evil.  Enough is enough”, he warned.

The President said the high number of international students that have enrolled in the college strengthened the idea of African brotherliness, integration and regional co-operation which were necessary for the security of the continent.

According to him, “African problem can only be solved by Africans themselves,’’ even as “Nigeria remains committed to international peace and security and will continue to work in close collaboration with other African government to promote stability and development in the continent.

’’Today’s ceremony is the testimony of the hard work of the Commandant, the Directorate Staff in their determination to contribute towards the continues transformation of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

“As you go back to the field, most of you will be deployed to crisis prone area either for international security or for peace support operations outside the country.

“You must be mindful of your action and realize that we are in a common global environment
“ As you are conferred today with the award Passed Staff Course (psc), note that you are now better informed and responsible for your actions.”
