The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has declared that Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will remain an ordained pastor in the church despite calls for her removal.
Speaking during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye said Oluremi Tinubu was ordained as an Assistant Pastor in RCCG more than a decade ago, long before her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, indicated interest in contesting for the presidency.
He explained that her ordination followed the full process required by the church and stressed that she has not violated any of its doctrines or guidelines.
“She was properly ordained many years ago, long before the political journey of her husband to the presidency began,” Adeboye said, adding that the church would not bow to external pressure demanding her removal.
According to him, RCCG operates on established spiritual and procedural principles and will not take decisions based on political sentiment or public agitation.
Adeboye maintained that the First Lady remains in good standing within the church and continues to serve in her pastoral capacity.
