PDP begs Nigerians to support Jonathan

ABUJA-AS Muslims across the country join the rest of the world to mark this year’s Eid-El-Fitri, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday urged all Nigerians irrespective of their religion to support President Goodluck Jonathan in his determination to bring about development in the country.

In a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Professor Rufai Ahmed Alkali, the PDP also called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, tolerance and sacrifice.

The statement read, “the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, AlhAJI Abubakar Kawu Baraje on behalf of the National Working Committee, NWC, and the entire members and supporters of our great party sends our warmest greetings to all our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri.

“This celebration which marks the end of Ramadan affirms man’s infinite faith in God and complete submission to His supreme will. We call on Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of peace, sacrifice, tolerance and love for one another which are the bedrock of this occasion.

“On this special occasion, our great party, the PDP once again invites all Nigerians to join hands with the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, in his determination to bring about transformation and good governance to our people. May this celebration be a constant reminder of the patriotic obligations we all owe to our great nation.’’
