Siasia unveils 22-man squad against Guinea •Protests 2pm kick-off

DESPITE an apology for his revolt against the team’s travelling plan for the tie against Madagascar in Antananarivo early this month, Super Eagles goalie, Vincent Enyeama will not be part of the squad when it confronts Guinea.

The Eagles are up against the Syli Nationale in a must win 2012 Nations Cup qualifier billed for the Abuja National Stadium on October 8.

Tribunesports gathered from a top official of the team that there was not yet a place for the former Hapoel Tel Aviv of Israel safehand and his exclusion was meant to serve as a deterrent to players who might wish to cause discontent within the Eagles.

The list of invited players: are Goalkeepers: Austin Ejide (Hapoel Petah Tikva/ISR), Dele Aiyenugba (Bnei-Yehuda/ISR), Chigozie Agbim (Warri Wolves)

Defenders: Taye Taiwo (AC Milan), Joseph Yobo (Everton/ENG), Efe Ambrose (FC Ashdod/ISR), Elderson Echiejile (Sporting Braga/POR), Chibuzor Okonkwo (Heartland FC), Dele Adeleye (Tavriya/UKR)

Midfielders: Joel Obi (Inter Milan/ITA), Mikel Obi (Chelsea/ENG), Fengor Ogude (Valerenga/NOR)

Forwards: Kalu Uche (Neuchatel Xamax/SWI), Ikechukwu Uche (Granada/SPA), Osaze Odemwingie (West Bromwich Albion/ENG), Brown Ideye (Dynamo Kiev/UKR), Chinedu Obasi (Hoffenheim/GER), Peter Utaka (OB Odense/DEN), Ahmed Musa (VVV Venlo/NED), Emmanuel Emenike (Spartak Moscow/RUS), Obinna Nsofor (Locomotiv Moscow/RUS), Ekigho Ehiosun (Samsunspor/TUR).

Five players – Nosa Igiebor, Gege Soriola, Emmanuel Ekpo, Ugo Ukah and Nnamdi Oduamadi will join the team for the friendly against Ghana on October 11.

Meanwhile, SUPER Eagles’ head coach, Samson Siasia argues that the Confederation of African Football, CAF, needs not order simultaneous kickoff of the final Group Two matches on October 8, describing the decision as unfair to the Nigerian team.

”I guess it is unfair to us if we have to play at home under unfavourable condition,” Siasia said yesterday in Lagos in reference to the 2pm kick off ordered by CAF.

”Only our game against Guinea is the one in contention, it is the decisive game of the group, whatever happens between Ethiopia and Madagascar does not matter to the event in Abuja. It is in this light I am looking at the decision by CAF.”

However, Siasia added that he had been talking to his players on the need to adjust to the condition.

”I had been talking with the players, we should be prepared for the 2pm kick off and we have to get result that we need,” he said.
