Armed robbers shut down Ijebu Igbo banks

Two years after a robbery attack on one of the new generation banks in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, all banks in the town are yet to re-open for business.

Investigation by the News Agency of Nigeria revealed that the management of the banks operating in the town had decided not to commence business due to incessant attacks by robbers.

Some of the residents who, however, spoke to NAN expressed displeasure over the development and appealed to the banks to re-open for business.

They said the closure was affecting their businesses as they had to travel to neigbouring towns for banking transactions.
