Pastor in court over N225,000 fraud

One pastor Frederick Igboka, 36, on Tuesday appeared before an Upper Area
Court in Gwagwalada for allegedly defrauding one Chioma Nmaduewesi of
N225,000.

Igboka,who was accused of defrauding Nmaduewesi in the pretext of processing
her travelling documents to Japan, had in the process issued her with fake
documents.

The Police Prosecutor, Sunday Okedi told the court that the accused had
paraded himself as a pastor in an interdenominational camp, “Alone with God
Solution Camp??.

He said that the accused was admitted to the camp on Sept. 20 following his
claim to be a pastor.

According to Okedi, the accused had deceived and duped several Christians
coming to the camp to offer prayers claiming to be assisting them in prayers.

The prosecutor said that Igboka was arrested on Oct. 10 following complaints
lodged at Kwali Police Station by one Mrs Felicia Okeia.

Okedi said that the accused was arraigned on three counts charge of breach of
trust,cheating and forgery. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the
charges brought against him by the police.

Alhaji Babangida Hassan, the judge of the court, therefore, granted him bail in
the sum of N200,000 with a reasonable surety, who must be a civil servant on
grade level seven and above in like sum.

Hassan, who said the surety must be resident within the FCT with fixed address,
also adjourned the case till Nov. 28 for hearing.
