Mimiko seeks arrest of perpetrators
Ondo, State News Sunday, January 2nd, 2011Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has condemned the bomb blasts on New Year Eve which rocked the Mogadishu Barracks in Abuja and it’s attendant toll.
He described the incident as “a dastardly act, reprehensible and an antithesis of what we stood for as a people of this nation.”
Mimiko, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kolawole Olabisi, in Akure, on Sunday, described the bomb blasts as “one too many” and lamented what he described as the wanton waste of lives of innocent souls.
Mimiko said, “It is a sad commentary on our nation that out of the blues, we have become a country where some unscrupulous people now throw bombs at will to settle scores and create panic.
“This sad and unacceptable development is anti all that we are known for and those behind this nefarious act must be brought to book and punished as they are enemies of the country.
