Five arrested over Suleja blast

Minna – Niger state police command has announced the arrest of five persons suspected to have masterminded the Sunday bomb explosion in Suleja town.
The state commissioner of police, Alhjai Ibrahim Maishanu who addressed Journalists in Minna, Niger state Monday, described the arrest as a breakthrough for the police especially in the recent clampdown on leaders of the Boko Haram sect that have been unleashing terror on innocent citizens of the country.
He said though nobody has claimed responsibility for the latest bomb blast, the commissioner however revealed that proper investigation is still going on while more arrests would still be made with the intelligennce report still being gathered on the matter.
Alhaji Maishanu disclosed that police in Minna has concluded its own preliminary investigations on those arrested while they have been transferred to the zonal police headquarters for further investigations.
The commissioner called on churches, individuals and corporate organization in the state to join hands with the police and other security agencies in the state to wage total war on the criminals in the area adding that the Sunday Suleja blast would have been more devastating if not for the combined security network put on by the church, the police and other security agencies in the area.
