President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari, has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles would record an outright victory over the Amavubi Stars of Rwanda in the crucial Nations Cup encounter billed for Kigali on Wednesday.

The Glasshouse boss, while fielding questions from Daily Sunsports in his office in Abuja, maintained that he had no iota of doubt on the Eagles beating the hosts outright, considering the outcome of the matches the Stephen Keshi-led team played in the recent past.

The federation boss, who insisted that Rwanda must fall in Kigali, described the match a must win, stressing that it was in line with the determination of his board to give the soccer-loving Nigerians something to cheer about in the current football year.

“The game is a must win and I’m very confidence that the players, technical crew and the federation will deliver and give Nigerians something to cheer about, God’s willing. We have seen the determination in the players and the technical crew going by their records in the matches they recently executed. It has been encouraging and we hope they would continue with their performances.”

On the promise to Nigerians for the 2012 football year, the ex-footballer said: “They should expect something very good and better than what we had in 2011. We will bring back the lost glory of Nigerian football. However, I must appeal to them to support us with their advice and prayers.
“Whatever has happened last year has happened and we cannot roll back the hands of the clock. We should look forward to the successes of tomorrow, using what happened as experience. I’m sure 2012 would be a very good year for the Nigerian football family,” he promised.
Is the ruling by the Federal High Court putting him under any form of pressure, Alhaji Maigari, said: “I’m not under any form of pressure. As a law-abiding citizen, I have to abide by the court order. We are waiting for the outcome of the court proceedings.”wp_posts
