Boko Haram kills 3 in fresh Kano attack

No fewer than three persons were killed in Kano yesterday night as gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect, resumed their hostility, opening  fire on the social spot along Sharada Phase 1 in the state capital.

The particular spot that came under attack is a commercial area well populated with different petty traders ranging from Suya sellers to tea sellers.

Residents told Daily Sun that the suspects came in a motorbike at about 6.00pm, adding that they appeared to have gone straight for their target.
Reports claimed that their main target could have been a security official, who was in the joint in his unofficial capacity.

This could not be confirmed.
Daily Sun gathered that soon after the attack, the suspects quickly disappeared in the ensuing confusion, escaping without a trace and leaving the entire spot in confusion.
The members of the Joint Security Task Force in the state, it was gathered were immediately deployed to the particular spot.

A resident, who watched from a distance said the shootout resulted into huge confusion as people ran in different directions for dare lives, adding the confusion was not made any less  as the security  on arrival equally shot a couple of times in the air .
The shootout immediately triggered off fears in the state capital. Besides, it has further increased the security situation across the state .

A statement from the Nigeria Police Force in the state, however, claimed that gunmen on motorbike killed two and injured another at a card playing joint along Sharada in the state. The statement said the suspects fled before the arrival of the police men on patrol.
