Man docked over alleged withdrawal of N.1m cheque

IKEJA – A 20-year-old man, Adebowale Olamilekan, who was apprehended while allegedly trying to cash a cheque of N100,000 from the account of one Professor Mordi at Ikeja branch of Skye Bank Plc, has been charged before a Lagos State High Court, Igbosere by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Olamilekan was arrested when Prof. Mordi denied the issuance of the cheque and the bank observed that the signature on the cheque was forged. The accused was charged on an eight-count charge of forgery and stealing.
Mordi, in a petition to EFCC, had alleged that about six withdrawals had been made from his account with cheques not issued by him.
