Lagos bizman committed suicide – Police

Lagos — Police investigation into the discovered lifeless body of a businessman, weekend in Ajagbandi area of Lagos, yesterday, revealed that the deceased committed suicide.
Although the deceased, Ahmed Omobumbe did not leave a suicide note, investigation by the Lagos State Police Command revealed that the man hung himself out of frustration.
The 40-year-old Ahmed, reportedly took ill which allegedly defied medication. But the situation took a tragic turn, when his body was reportedly found dangling from the roof of his apartment last Saturday, by one of his children.
The alarm raised at the discovery attracted residents of the area, who consequently contacted policemen from Olosan division.
Eye witnesses said the late Ahmed might have committed the act after his two children had gone to bed the previous night.
Confirming the incident, spokesman for Lagos State Police Command, Mr Joseph Jaiyeoba, said: “About 10:30am on April 7, one Ahmed Omobumbe, was found hanging in his apartment at Ajamgbadi.
The deceased and his wife didn’t live together but he lived with his two children and investigations revealed that he had been frustrated due to a certain illness. His corpse was initially taken to a mortuary but was later taken to his home town in Auchi, Edo State, where he will be buried.”
