Angry reactions in Imo over Dana air crash

OWERRI—Angry reactions have started trailing Sunday’s Dana Air plane crash that claimed over 170 lives, as Governor Rochas Okorocha appealed to Nigerians to pray for the repose of their souls.
Imo people were particularly irked that a number of their prominent sons and daughters, including the immediate past Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO, Prof Celestine Onwuliri, and the Group General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Livy Ajonuma.
While the respondents feared that some of the aircrafts operating the nation’s airspace may not be air worthy, others appealed to the Federal Government to compel operators to fully comply with maintenance schedules of aircrafts.
Speaking through his Senior Special Adviser, SSA, (Media), Mr. Chinedu Offor, the Governor prayed God to grant the nation the fortitude the bear the loss.
“I passionately call on Nigerians to pray for the repose of the souls of those, who lost their lives on board the ill-fated Abuja-Lagos bound Dana Air”, Okorocha said.
