Letter: Anambra convention in Toronto
Anambra, Headlines, Letters, State News Sunday, July 29th, 2012Mr editor,
Kindly allow me some space to comment on an issue that is uppermost in many of us in diaspora. Each time you read news about Anambra state, you hear daily accounts of kidnappings in the state. Kidnapping is the greatest issue disturbing many of us. Surprisingly, our kith and kin in Toronto did not even mentioned this topic even as sub title. It is very startling and disheartening to us that the press do not highlight this very issue disturbing us. I am aware of some of my acquaintances who had shifted the sight of their dream houses from Anambra to Rivers State and some other states.
My humble request is that this one single issue be given the wide coverage it deserves so that the governors in such regions will be alive to their responsibilities. I take this opportunity in thanking your organization for being one of the papers that highlight what happens in the south east region of Nigeria.
